New pub coming soon to Ankeny and Broadway

Posted on 02 July 2007

Bailey’s Taproom is opening in August, according to the website. It’s in the old Lamthong spot.

I look forward to checking it out, as it’s a block from my office and I like beer and chocolate and cheese.

Oh, and I’ll buy a beer for the first person to tell me what the heck River Phoenix has to do with anything.

Well gee, Dave, that’s easy. Do I still get a beer if I mention it?

2 years later is that offer still good? That’s because that’s where the pictured scene from “My Own Private Idaho” was filmed.
