A bittersweet Timbers opening day

Timbers!Come to PGE Park tonight and see grown men cry.

Of course you know already that the Portland Timbers kick off the 2008 season tonight at PGE Park. But this match also marks the retirement of the iconic Timber Jim.

Allison Andrews has posted a series of excellent and heartfelt articles in homage to Timber Jim at The Timber Mill:

The match against the Puerto Rico Islanders starts at 7pm. Pre-match drinking commences whenever your local opens. Prepare for an epidemic of the Brown Bottle Flu Friday.
