Camping close to town with no reservations for the last time (this summer)

Posted on 03 September 2008

The first time we camped this summer, the weekend after Memorial Day, we expected crowds but had the rain soaked Spruce Run campground to ourselves.

The second time we camped this summer, the weather was beautiful and we left early on Friday, but were supremely fortunate to snag the last available campsite at Green Canyon.

So did we reserve a campsite for Labor Day Weekend, the weekend that strikes fear into the hearts of all no-reservation campers?  Of course not.  We had a fool-proof plan to procure a no-reservation spot at Beacon Rock.

So how did we end up at Panther Creek?
