Hunger Squad: think of it as a Portland-style Kozmo.com

Posted on 26 September 2008

Remember Kozmo.com?  During the dotcom bubble you could order a candy bar from their website, and for about what you’d pay at Plaid Pantry they’d deliver it to your door via orange scooter, or sometimes bicycle.  I can’t imagine how that business model failed! ;-)

It’s been a long wait, but the idea has returned to Portland, but with a Portland-style twist: all deliveries are by bicycle.

Hunger Squad begins offering its service today. There’s a $10 minimum order, and currently they only deliver to the downtown area.

BikePortland.org has the story: ‘Hunger Squad’ brings bike delivery concept to downtown

This place is awsome! I ordered a big bag of chips, a jar of salsa, two cans of Dr Pepper and a pack of american spirits. The prices are competative with any convenient store. I ordered around 1am and my order took like 10 minutes to get to my door! These guys are good. Anyone living in downtown portland should definetly check it out.
