Sources say an announcement will be made Friday confirming that Portland is to receive one of the two Major League Soccer expansion franchises to start play in 2011.
Grab your scarf and head down to the rally Friday, March 20th at 9:30am at the Portland Hilton (921 SW Sixth Avenue). The press conferences is at 10am in the Pavilion Ballroom.
And then at 7pm the Timbers take on the visiting MLS New York Red Bulls in the teams’ first home pre-season match of the year, at Merlo Field (at U of P’s Clive Charles Soccer Complex).
