I hope you like apples – fresh or fermented! Peaches too, and Korean food, and walking!
The 28th Annual Apple Tasting Event at Portland Nursery (SE 50th and Stark) takes place over the next two weekends (Friday-Sunday, October 9-11, and 16-18-21, 10 AM to 5 PM each day). After the Polish Festival and sundry Oktoberfests, this is my favorite fall event. What’s not to like? There’s Apple tasting, old fashioned cider pressing, apple desserts, cooking demonstrations, and live music.
Portland’s first ever Korean Food Festival takes place Sunday, 11 October 2015, at the Ecotrust building (707 NW Irving) from 1 PM to 6 PM.
The 2015 NW Ciderfest takes place at Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square on Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11.
Food carts and live music make the fest fun for all age – and even well behaved dogs are welcome! Hard ciders from over 30 local and regional cideries will be on hand for (21 and over) sampling.
Portlandia (the hammered-copper statue) was installed and dedicated above the front entrance of the Portland Building in October of 1985.
Which means it’s her 30th birthday!
