Over at his blog Greg Oden tells us about his new dog, a Boston/Beagle that he has charmingly named Charles Barkley McLovin. I’m sure the TNT crew will get a kick out of that.
He is not too big because i cant have a big dog while im renting my house. He is very [...]

My thoughts on Oden’s knee
September 12th, 2007 · 3 Comments
UPDATE: Well, we’ve learned the news is worse than hoped, but there’s a chance he’ll recover as well as Stoudemire and Randolph have from microfracture surgery. In any case the Blazers have good young team going into the new season even without Oden. I’ll enjoy watching Aldridge become a star this year, and [...]

Red Hot and Rollin’ at Blazer’s Edge
August 20th, 2007 · No Comments
The first day of the Blazer’s Edge Summer Book Club is upon us. A book discussion on The Blazers Edge: A Site by and for Blazer Fans? Makes perfect sense since the book is Red Hot and Rollin’: A Retrospection of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 1976-77 Championship Season (Library | Powell’s), edited by [...]

McMillan and Oden make “All-Future Team”
August 16th, 2007 · No Comments
Ian Thomsen thinks Nate will be the Popovich of the future:
If he can survive the next couple of years with his ultra-young roster, he could develop a Popovichesque relationship with Greg Oden. McMillan has the work ethic, defensive mind-set and integrity to become a championship coach.
And he has Greg Oden as a reserve. I think [...]

August 2nd, 2007 · No Comments
Casey at the Blazer blog on Oregonlive.com has the schedule, and points out some interesting things:
The Blazers kick off the season on the road on October 30 against the World Champion San Antonio Spurs. And it’s on TNT! That’s national. In fact, they’ve got 11 nationally televised games (six on TNT, five on ESPN) and [...]

‘Optimus Prime’ is a Mac user, and other things I learned about Greg Oden
July 25th, 2007 · No Comments
Greg Oden posted his interview with Miss Gossip to his blog (Miss Gossip posted the interview on her blog a couple weeks ago).
I don’t like the ‘Optimus Prime’ nickname either. Any one got a better one than ‘O-G’ or ‘G-O’?

Harry Potter free zone; some books for the rest of us
July 21st, 2007 · No Comments
Can I be the only one not obsessed with all things Harry Potter? For those of you who got your fill of children’s books when you were children, here are a couple Portland-related books I recommend you read while all your friends enjoy making J. K. Rowling even richer.
(If you *must* read fantasy, at [...]

Rasheed Wallace Vindicated!
July 20th, 2007 · 1 Comment
NBA referee Tim Donaghy is being investigated by the FBI for betting on NBA basketball games that he officiated. I never liked that guy. Donaghy is the referee with whom Rasheed Wallace had the infamous confrontation on the loading dock after a game at the Rose Garden in 2003.
I always thought Rasheed got a [...]
