October 20-21: Under bridge Diversion and pub Greek history lecture #2

October 18, 2007 by Dave Leave a Comment

Put your chicken dance shoes in the closet, the summer festival season is over.

Though the calendar is relatively bare, there are still some things to keep us amused through the wet and 40 degree season knows as Fall/Winter in Portland.

Saturday

Decompression

Much of Portland’s Burning Man contingent will be “decompressing” Saturday under the Fremont Bridge at Diversion. The music, theme camps, and art installations will make you feel like you’re a resident of a cold and wet version of Black Rock City. The festival runs from 3-11pm Saturday, with an after party to follow. Get more details, including ticket information, at the website.

Sunday

The Whiskey Drinkers’ Greek History Lecture Series continues Sunday at Brooklyn Park Pub (3400 SE Milwaukie Ave). The lecture begins at 6pm and covers the second Persian invasion of Greece, including the stand at Thermopylae!
