Festival of Zappadan

December 4, 2008 by Dave 4 Comments

Update: 2011 Festival of Zappadan

Today, the anniversary of Frank Zappa‘s death, marks the beginning of the Festival of Zappadan.  The festival ends on his birthday, December 21st.

The The Aristocrats is Zappa-blogging throughout the festival. iVoryTowerz has a good explanation and history of the festival: Zappadan 2008.

Anyone know if there will be any Portland-area observations of Zappadan?

Well, I would assume there will be some sort of observation chez Portland Dave’s?? Maybe serve some nice golden amber beer over snow?

XUP – To be honest I’m not well versed in the oeuvre of Frank Zappa. But I’ve got some recommendations I’m looking into . . .

    Dave…

Thanks so much for the link. Certainly, playing much of Apostraphe while building snowmen or other fun outdoor activity would be more than appropriate for Zappadan. And if you want more on the Zappa oeuvre, please come back to our spot. Our Zappa music list is growing daily during Zappadan.
