The Portland Farmers Market‘s winter hiatus is over! The PSU market returns to operation this Saturday at 8:30am. They’ve finally banned Fido; but when will they ban the double wide strollers?
The 2009 Firkin Festival occurs Saturday too, in two shifts: 11am-2pm and 3pm-6pm at the Green Dragon Bistro and Brewpub (928 S.E. Ninth Street). The maximum capacity is 200 per shift. I’m not sure if there are any tickets left, but you can try at the Oregon Brewers Guild website.

Katie and I are thinking about going to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday….let us know if you’re going! We should meet up.
Portland Real Estate says
Yeah no kidding, huh? Those moms with the giant strollers never seem to realize that they are blocking all traffic.

Justin – We had too much to do Saturday to make it downtown for the market. Hope you and Katie had a good time and/or got some good produce?!
KYouell says
So does this mean that you will ride the MAX out to Hillsboro and then help me herd my 2 toddlers to the Market so I can leave the double stroller at home? 😛
Really, I shopped hard and made sure I got a stroller that is no wider than a wheelchair; if mine’s too wide to fit then non-compliance is an issue. Please don’t hate on us breeders who ended up with a kid with Down syndrome that has to be in a stroller and a little sister that’s, well, being a 2-year-old. Honestly I do know that it’s too much for some people to stand but the kids need to get out into the world too.
And whatthehell am I doing commenting on this when it’s almost 2 months old. I’m sorry, but I do not have a grip. I should get one.
Dave says
KYouell – I’m not seriously advocating a ban on double wide strollers at the Farmers Market. They are more than just a convenience for some parents, like yourself.
The market is crowded though, and *some* parents are oblivious to the obstacle they present to others also trying to enjoy the market.
