Formed days after the repeal of prohibition in 1933, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) has been granted exclusive right to sell packaged distilled spirits throughout the state.
Liquor is sold in 242 retail stores operated by contracted agents. The first OLCC controlled stores opened their doors for the first time on February 15, 1934.*
