Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area at the Gorge Birthday Bash this Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Leftbank Annex (101 North Weidler).
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area encompasses 292,500 acres, the entire length of the Columbia River Gorge. It spans two states, extreme southern Washington and northern Oregon,and runs from the mouths of Sandy River to the Deschutes River. The Columbia River Gorge is unique in both its natural and cultural history, as well as its designation as a National Scenic Area.
The party is hosted by Friends of the Columbia River Gorge, whose mission is to vigorously protect the scenic, natural, cultural, and recreational resources of the Columbia River Gorge. The OPB film The Fight for Paradise will be shown, live music will be provided by Boy & Bean, and Friends’ staff will give presentations of inspiration, education, and recognition.
Doors open at 5pm, film starts at 5:30. A donation of $5-10 is suggested.
