May 4, 2012 by Dave Leave a Comment

The Humanists of Greater Portland, a community of freethinkers in the Portland, Oregon metro area, fostering camaraderie, lifelong learning, personal growth, and collective action, unfettered by supernatural beliefs or religious dogma, present Rationality and Irrationality, a free lecture this Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Friendly House Community Center (1737 NW 26th):

Dr. Peter Boghossian, of the Portland State University Philosophy Department, will speak about faith. He will offer a new definition for faith and issue a thought challenge to audience members.

Dr. Boghossian is an instructor of philosophy at PSU, and an affiliate research assistant professor at OHSU. He is also an outspoken critic of religious belief. His primary research areas are critical thinking and reasoning. Read April’s Portland Mercury interview with him, Faith No More, to learn more.
