October 17: Night Owl Record Show

Posted on 12 October 2009

nighowlfall09The Fall 2009 Night Owl Record Show takes place this Saturday, October 10th from 5pm to 9pm at the Portland Eagles Lodge (4904 SE Hawthorne).

Portland’s Night Owl Record Show is the nation’s first night time record show. Twice a year since October of 2003 music fans and record fiends from Portland, the Pacific Northwest and as far away as Florida, New York and Japan, have gathered for a funky time buying, selling and trading records. The Eagles provide food, drink and pool to keep things from getting boring.

Our friends Justin and Katie from Hall of Records will be in attendance, offering up a hand-picked selection of Rare Groove, Deep Funk, Jazz, Cinematic Soul, Hip-Hop, and Breaks, in addition to plenty of other music lovers and vinyl collectors.

21 and over only. Admission is $2 (or $15 for the early bird entrance at 3pm). Part of the proceeds benefits KBOO, Portland’s community radio station.

Thanks for the plug Dave! Should be “fun,” if your definition of fun involves digging through endless dusty crates of wax. Haha. Though, they do have beer there. So ya know….that doesn’t suck.
