So as many of you know, I am on Twitter, using my real name.

But I also have the Twitter username DaveKnowsPDX, which has been gathering dust for a while. It seems more of a natural fit for the Dave Knows Portland site, so I’ve been thinking of transitioning to it.

But it ’s seemed like a hassle, both for me and for the folks who already follow me on my other Twitter account, so I’ve put off making the change.

Just recently, however the kind folks helping to market the new Fawlty Towers: The Complete Collection dvd box set, with brand new extras including John Cleese commentary and cast interviews, have given me a free copy to do with what I want, and I have decided to give it away.*

And it dawned on me that perhaps I could kill two birds with one stone by using the boxed set as an incentive for the Twitter migration.

So here’s what I propose:

Follow me on Twitter at DaveKnowsPDX (please direct-message me that you are interested in the giveaway after you begin following), and when I reach 150 followers I will draw one of the interested follower names out of a proverbial hat and present to that lucky person a still-cellophane-wrapped copy of the Fawlty Towers: The Complete Collection boxed set.

*The Fawlty Towers folks also asked me to point you to the John Cleese lookalike contest, the Facebook page, and the Twitter, so there you go.
