Ease your transition to real Autumn weather with beer, cheese, and Greek food this weekend. And if you have the gumption, ride your bike a bit around Sellwood and Milwaukie.

After six decades, The Greek Festival has become one of the largest festivals of its kind, sharing our Greek Orthodox faith and rich culture with over 15,000 guests annually. The festival is an iconic event in the Portland Metropolitan area and has been designated as an Oregon Heritage Tradition by the Oregon Heritage Commission. Each year a portion of proceeds from the festival go toward worthy philanthropic endeavors in the greater Portland community.

It’s the biggest party of the year at Prost!

Everything kicks off on Friday Night with a ceremonial keg tapping at 7pm. We will also be selling a limited amount of our 2016 Oktoberfest Liter Steins.

Saturday and Sunday we are taking the party outside. We will have the entire Marketplace, with extra biers available on tap outside, German BBQ on a charcoal grill, games, a face painter and more!

Portland Juggling Festival and Vaudeville Extravaganza

One of the largest regional juggling festivals in the country, the festival provides a venue for jugglers from around the world to come together to share knowledge and hone skills in workshops and juggling sessions.

The Juggling and Vaudeville Extravaganza highlights the festival on Saturday night. In past years it’s featured a family-friendly assortment of local and national juggling and variety acts in one live performance.

Fresh Hop Fest 2016Portland Fresh Hops Fest

The Portland Fresh Hops Fest is a celebration of the annual hop harvest that takes place from mid-August to mid-September in Oregon. This year’s 13th annual event will take place Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Oaks Amusement Park, 7805 SE Oaks Park Way. Hours are 5pm to 9pm on Friday and 12pm to 8pm on Saturday. The festival features more than 60 Oregon craft beers made with hops that are freshly picked off the vine and used within hours of harvesting.

This year’s festival will feature more than 60 Oregon brewed fresh hop beers . . . Beers may run out; for the greatest selection, arrive on Friday or before 3pm on Saturday.

The WedgeThe Wedge: Portland Celebrates Cheese

The Wedge is a Farmers Market-style event, featuring cheese and foods/beverages that go well with it. Sample and purchase local, artisan cheese, specialty foods, beer, wine, and cider, take a class, snap a pic with our mascot, and try your hand at cheese wheel bowling! . . .

This is a family and pet friendly event that is open to the public. Children and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome . . .

This is the last event of the season, but we will end it with a bang! We are once again teaming up with the Salmon Celebration and the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) for the second year in a row. For the first time ever, we will be going to Milwaukie. It’s going to be amazing! This new route will include Westmoreland, Sellwood, and Water Tower Parks plus the Milwaukie Farmers Market and the Milwaukie Business District. Stop by this event to share in some Sunday Parkways history in the making, and also enjoy the live music, delicious food, and fun that awaits you!

OMSIOMSI Harvest Fest

Enjoy the bounty of Oregon while indulging in snacks, sweets, beer and music from the Pacific Northwest region! Learn about Oregon specialty crops from local farms, CSA’s, cooking demonstrations and artisan vendors. There’s fun for the whole family, including kids activities and live entertainment. Come celebrate the harvest season at OMSI!

Salmon Celebration3rd Annual Salmon Celebration at Westmoreland Park

Join us in celebration of the restoration of Crystal Springs Creek and the return of salmon to the city on Sunday October, 2 from 11am to 4pm at Westmoreland Park.

The program will include salmon and lamprey tasters, inter-tribal cultural activities, and wonderful storytelling. Booths will include hands-on science activities, wilderness skills, nature crafts, and games for children and adults alike. The event will be free and open to all.

As the longest-running FREE Jazz Festival west of the Mississippi River, CPJF celebrates its 36th year with three days of world-class music. The Festival begins Friday night with dynamic Blues, R&B, and Soul. Saturday and Sunday will feature all the multiple styles of Jazz in all its glory. The stage is situated in a natural amphitheater with a backdrop of the beautiful Willamette River to the west and the mighty St Johns Bridge overhead . . .

Shoot off water rockets, concoct chemical creations, and explore the wonders of OMSI with no kids in sight! Enjoy a glass of wine while learning about robots, tornados, or fossils. Talk to a brewer about the science behind beer, or taste how an extra 10% cacao can make a difference in chocolate.

All that and more with OMSI After Dark, a night at the museum for the 21-and-over crowd filled with food, drink, and science fun!

Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Flounders

Timbers LogoCascadian rival Seattle visit Providence Park on Sunday, 17 July 2016 to face the defending MLS champion Portland Timbers.

The Timbers, undefeated in their last eight league matches and currently seventh in the Western Conference standings, hope to retain their good form – and maybe even get a win – on Sunday when rival Seattle visit.

Seattle, second to last in the standings but coming off a big 5-0 (!) win Wednesday against first place Dallas, will be without their aging star Clint Dempsey, who received a red card in that same match.

The match begins at noon.

Portland Beer Week is eleven days of fun, educational, eye and palate opening eating and drinking events in the greatest beer city on earth. More than just a beer festival, Portland Beer Week is a celebration of craft beer culture and all of its tangents from food pairings to beer ice cream, artwork and design, film and science.

Pedalpalooza 2016

Pedalpalooza is 3+ weeks of bikey fun. With 280 different events, most organized by individuals, bikers of all persuasions are likely to find many events of interest. Nearly all events are free.

Fruit Beer Fest 2016Portland Fruit Beer Festival

The world’s first dedicated fruit beer festival will return for it’s 6th year on June 10-12th, 2016. Due to overwhelming support and overcapacity crowds, organizers are excited to announce a new and larger venue for 2016’s festivities at the North Park Blocks in downtown Portland. The new grassy and tree lined location is only slightly more than a mile away from the original venue and just a straight shot west on Burnside Avenue.

The 6th annual Portland Fruit Beer Festival more breweries and cideries to the lineup with more national brewery presence without forgetting some of our favorite local makers. The expanded venue will also allow for more food options, more places to relax and more music and all-ages activities.

Portland Midsummer Scandinavian Festival

Portland Scandinavian Heritage FoundationScandinavians have a long tradition of celebrating the Summer Solstice with bonfires and the raising of the Maypole. Here in Portland, that tradition has been celebrated for 88 continuous years at the Portland Scandinavian Midsummer Festival.

Everyone is welcome at this summer solstice festival! As anyone who’s been there before knows, that it’s always a fun, family-friendly day filled with games, dancing, food, Nordic vendors and crafts and, of course, the raising of the Maypole.

Toffee-Club-Block-PartyWe will be closing SE 10th Avenue between Hawthorne and Clay on Saturday 11th June to celebrate the two big tournaments of the summer – England playing in the Euros at 12pm and USA playing in Copa at 4pm.

The Mt. Tabor Art Walk showcases the many artists who live in this neighborhood. It is designed to promote high-quality visual art in a variety of media within the unique setting of the Mt. Tabor neighborhood.

PDX Night Market

The Portland Night Market showcases the many unique & diverse businesses that call the great City of Portland home. Blending food, culture, music, drinks and retail together for an adventurous evening in the Industrial District. Sundays at the Tram are back! Kids and parents can expect face-painting, fun craft activities, a free Tram activity book and temporary Tram tattoo. Great views from the Tram and the Observation Deck will delight the whole family.

The Tram will be open 1 to 5pm. Children 6 and under ride free with a paying adult.

Portland Timbers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps

Timbers LogoCascadian rival Vancouver Whitecaps visit Providence Park on Sunday, 22 May 2016 to face the slumping Portland Timbers.

The Timbers, in second to last place in the conference standings, hope to gain something resembling good form after two consecutive losses on the road, and one at home last Sunday to NYC FC.

In contrast, the Whitecaps are third in the standings and in fine form – winners of their last three matches including May 7th’s 2-1 defeat of Portland.

The match begins at 1:30 PM.

Street Fair season has arrived, just as the rainy weather returns. Of course. Belgian beer and a Timbers match too though, so it’s going to be a lovely weekend all around.

Cheers to Belgian Beers

Cheers to Belgian Beers 2016Cheers to Belgian Beers is back for its 10th year in 2016. The Belgian-style Beer Festival will feature a single yeast strain, with which brewers will brew a unique Belgian Style beer. This year the yeast strain is 58 Lioness. In order to demonstrate the diversity the yeast strain, as well as show off the creativity of Oregon Craft Brewers, the color and strength of each brewer’s beer is determined by a dart throw. When Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers started in 2007, it was to help introduce Oregonians to the breadth of style and flavors of beers brewed in Belgium. The 2015 Cheers to Belgian Beers featured 60 beers from 57 brewing companies.

Trains, trains, trains! What better way to celebrate Portland Train Day than at Oregon Rail Heritage Center – the only working rail museum in Portland? Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation is resurrecting Portland’s celebration of trains with the first annual Portland Train Day. ORHF’s Portland Train Day joins Train Days across the country in commemorating the completion of the first transcontinental railroad with the pounding of the ‘Golden Spike’ at Promontory Summit, Utah on May 10, 1869.

St. Johns Bizarre

St Johns Bizarre 2016The St Johns Bizarre is a uniquely-crafted celebration that kicks off the summer street fair season in Portland. Held annually on the second Saturday in May, the Bizarre brings music, crafts, and food to the crowds attending the St Johns Parade, now in its 54th year. After the parade, the entire six block area of the business district in the St. Johns is closed to traffic, and filled with over 70 juried craft vendors, several stages for music, great food, and tons of games and activities. It’s an amazing community event with something for everyone. The event is free.

Kenton Street Fair

Kenton Street Fair 2016The 7th annual Kenton Street Fair, an annual celebration of diverse and engaged communities aimed at promoting local growth and a sustainable future for Historic Kenton, takes place Sunday, 15 May 2016 in the Kenton Business District on North Denver Avenue (between N. Willis & N. Watts).

The festivities include live music performances on multiple stages, a children’s parade and other activities for the kids, vendors galore, and a whole bunch of people dressed as Paul Bunyon!

Portland Timbers vs. NYC FC

Timbers LogoNew York City Football Club visit Providence Park on Sunday, 15 May 2016 to face the Portland Timbers.

The Timbers aim to regain form after two consecutive losses on the road. NYC FC, winners of their last two matches, hopes to continue their recent strong form against Portland.
