New York Times travels to Frugal Portland

Posted on 08 May 2009

In the latest installment of the New York Times‘ obsession with our fair city, Matt Gross writes about Frugal Portland.

The Ace Hotel, Broder, and Bunk Sandwiches get mentions, and surprisingly the Acropolis and Ground Kontrol do too.

There’s a video about Portland’s burgeoning foodcart scene that’s worth watching. I do believe I’ve eaten at every food cart shown, and the excellent local blog Food Carts Portland gets a mention.

The article is the culmination of the Frugal Travel Blogger’s recent visit to Portland, where he requested readers to twitter him recommendations. He got some pretty good tips.
