Mary loves craft beer. And she writes about that love on her blog, My Life On Craft . . . beer, that is.
She and some friends recently visited Portland, and naturally, a pub crawl ensued.
They visited the New Old Lompoc, Lucky Lab and Laurelwood pubs in NW, then crossed the river and headed up to Mississippi to stop in at Amnesia. Roots in SE was next, followed by the Horse Brass and Belmont Station, and finally the Concordia Ale House in NE.
Reading her chronicle inspired me to contemplate my ideal Portland pub crawl. I would no doubt enjoy the same tour she and her friends embarked on, but being indifferent to New Old Lompoc’s beers, and having an aversion to the childcare-center ambiance of the Laurelwood pubs, I would do some things differently.
But that would depend on several factors. The two most important being the weather, and the time of the year (and hence the available seasonal beers).
