Old fake grass removed from the Piggie

As announced yesterday, PGE Park (affectionately known as The Piggie, and even more affectionately, Civic Stadium), is getting a new surface. The shabby NeXturf had been in place since the 2001 renovations.

Yesterday workers began tearing up the old neXturf. Intrepid Timbers fan and blogger, Steeplechase3k, stopped by the park with his camera to record for posterity the turf’s interment.
