Hello, Larry was a legendarily bad sitcom that ran on NBC from January 1979 to April 1980. It starred M*A*S*H‘s McLean Stevenson.
I have no recollection of the show. But local writer Brian Libby referenced it in a comment on my recent post Cincinnati and Portland: separated at birth?, and just today Lost Oregon twittered a link to the show’s opening credits, where lo and behold, one can catch glimpses of Portland’s 1970s skyline. So, without further adieu, I present to you the opening credits from Hello, Larry:

Thanks, Dave. I will now have the theme song to Hello Larry stuck in my head. Darn catchy. Do you remember “Together We Stand”, starring Elliot Gould as the former coach of the Trail Blazers? It had a secondary Oregon connection as his son was Ke Huy Quan, aka Data from The Goonies.
