The Timbers take on Carolina, again, 7pm Saturday at PGE Park. Come to the Timbers Army Tailgate in the parking lot between SW Taylor and SW Salmon on 18th Ave (behind Cheerful Bullpen) at 4pm for some pre-game fun and bbq.
But first: pub crawl!
I love Belgian beers, so there’s no way I’ll be missing the 3rd annual Cheers to Belgian Beers, which takes place Friday and Saturday, (noon to 10pm each day) at the NW Lucky Lab (1945 NW Quimby).
Every beer available during the fest will have been brewed with the Wyeast 3822, Ingelmunster yeast strain. Each brewery has been randomly assigned color and strength characteristics to aim for, so some of the brewers will be out of their comfort zones. The beers will truly be experimental, and no doubt there will be some fantastic discoveries (and also possibly a few stinkers).
$5 gets you the tasting goblet (required to taste) and tastes are a buck each. Profits from this year’s event will be donated to the Oregon Humane Society. The Oregon Brewers Guild has the full list of beers.
Saturday from noon-6pm the Deschutes Brewery Portland Pub will be throwing a first anniversary bash. The Beer Here has the details:
Deschutes Brewery’s elegant, woody pub in the Pearl is a year old now and they’ll close off part of Northwest Davis Street for a block party with a DJ, face-painting for the kids, and grilled burgers, brats and pulled pork sandwiches and Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter for sale.
Indoors, of course, are 16 handles serving special Deschutes beers such as the new Red Chair IPA and many others.
