Portland’s Filmed by Bike film festival takes place this Friday through Sunday, April 16-18, at the Clinton Street Theater (2522 SE Clinton).
Filmed by Bike is a film festival of bike-themed independent short movies from around the world. Submissions are limited to eight minutes and must revolve around the central theme of cycling.
Hundreds of international entries are submitted but only an average of 30 make the final cut. Our jury of esteemed judges makes that tough decision.
The festival kicks off Friday night with a street party on Clinton Street in front of the theater from 5:30pm to 11pm. The street party includes a beer garden and entertainment and a raffle (cash only for these!).
Check out the gallery of featured movies, with trailers. The show program is available on the website too. Buy tickets online or at the door.
Local filmmaker Mike Vogel is one of the jurors who selected this years films; here’s a short video he made last year that gives you a taste of the film fest festivities.

The festival is a fundraiser for the Multnomah County Bike Fair (who’s website hasn’t been updated since 2007, so you can tell they need some help!). But from this Momentum article, looks like the bike fest takes place June 26th, 2010 at Colonel Summers Park (SE 20th and Belmont).
