Friday
Every third Friday of the month, from 7 to 9pm, the Blue Monk (3341 SE Belmont) hosts the Offbeat Belly Dance collective, a club rocking, good timing, genre-defying gang of badass belly dancers.

Portland’s Filmed by Bike film festival takes place this Friday through Sunday, April 16-18, at the Clinton Street Theater (2522 SE Clinton).
The festival kicks off Friday night with a street party on Clinton Street in front of the theater from 5:30pm to 11pm. The street party includes a beer garden and entertainment and a raffle (cash only for these!). [more]
Hearing Voices, 2010 Storytelling Festival
The 6th annual Hearing Voices story telling festival takes place this week, from Sunday, April 11th through Sunday, April 18th. This event is hosted by the Washington County Cooperative Library Services as part of National Library Week. Life, legends, history and folk tales come alive through the magic of storytelling. [more]

The original idea for Record Store Day was conceived by Chris Brown, and was founded in 2007 by Eric Levin, Michael Kurtz, Carrie Colliton, Amy Dorfman, Don Van Cleave and Brian Poehner as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA, and hundreds of similar stores internationally. Timbers open 2010 season Saturday at PGE Park
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers open the 2010 USSF Division-2 Pro League season Saturday as they play host to the Rochester Rhinos at PGE Park at 7 p.m. For the seventh time since 2001, the Timbers open the regular season at home. [more]

Portland Pinbrawl 2010 takes place Sunday, April 18th at Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade (511 NW Couch). Match ups start at 11am.
