This video benefits from some of the great perspectives the filmmaker got: from helicopters and cranes. But the music seems really over-the-top intrusive. The first thing you here is someone wailing, “Are we human?” The video seems half a promotional video for downtown Portland and half a criticism of automobile traffic. Plus the shots are cut together to quickly and hastily. He went to all the trouble of shooting from a copter and then doesn’t hold the shots very long. I’m not saying this isn’t well done, but I’d have preferred a little less MTV wannabe style.
Brian Libby – It looks like it was expensive to make for sure. I didn’t like the music either, but different strokes etc. I’m curious what it was produced for – not much info on the Vimeo page.
