In what may prove a shrewd move, Timbers coach John Spencer tipped off Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies to the availability of Robbie Findley. At the Timbers Blog at The Offside, mao muses:

This space believes there will be a working relationship between the Timbers and Forest in regards to the 25-year old striker. If granted the aforementioned work permit, Findley would likely be unable to play with Forest until the new year and even then his lack of fitness, having sat idle since November, could keep him on the bench. But a summer loan back to the Timbers could easily be on the cards for Findley, particularly if Davies fancies his chances for a starting gig come the 2011/12 season.

The European mid-season transfer window is nigh. Dropping Timbers dishes on players percolating into Timbers rumors.
