For December 25th, 2010 activities see Things to Do in Portland on Christmas Day. For the rest of weekend, see below!

Holiday Light Displays

Peacock LanePeacock Lane lights up every night over the holiday weekend starting at 6pm to 11pm. On Christmas Eve the lights stay lit until midnight. And yes, you can also visit on Christmas Day! Visit Mile73.com for a preview of the 2010 display

Zoolights is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but the lights go on again on Sunday, December 26 from 5pm until 8pm. Heather and I visited Zoolights for our first time a few weeks ago. We recommend arriving early, by MAX (save your transfer and show it for a $1.50 off zoo admission!), and getting in line early for the first train ride at 5pm!

Pittock Mansion is all dressed up for A Northwest Christmas: The Natural Beauty and Bounty of Oregon. The mansion has been transformed into a holiday wonderland. Festive decorations, ribbon, garland, poinsettias, and more than 15 Christmas trees festoon the historic house. Visitors are welcome on Friday and Sunday, but the mansion is closed on Christmas Day.

TimbersThe big Portland Timbers news since last Friday’s roundup was the trade: Steve Cronin for D.C. United’s Troy Perkins. This event led to much gnashing and gnawing of teeth by supporters, but at the end of the day all parties know it’s a business, yo?
