“The Vortex”. History. Music. Art. Humor, the latest installment of the Stumptown Stories series, will be presented by OrHistory.com‘s Doug Kenck-Crispin at the Jack London Bar (basement of the Rialto, SW 4th and Alder) on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 7:30pm.
The incredible tale of how Republican Oregon Governor Tom McCall averted violence and doom by holding a state-sponsored Hippie Rock Festival at McIver Park in rural Clackamas County during the summer of 1970.
Live music will be provided by Snow Bud and the Flower People. Artwork by Jim Hill.
The Stumptown Stories series takes place most Tuesdays at The Rialto’s Jack London bar, and is geared to everyone who loves this city we live in. Free to get in, but must be 21 or over – there’s a full bar!
