October 20, 2010 by Dave Knows Leave a Comment

The Cort and Fatboy/Funemployment Radio Giant Size Crossover #2Cort and Fatboy celebrate 364 days without a corporate firing with Funemployment Radio‘s Greg Nibler and Sarah X. Dylan on Friday, October 22nd at 10am on Cascadia.FM, it’s the The Cort and Fatboy/Funemployment Radio Giant Size Crossover #2 show!

Friday’s special 2 part show (part 1 airs 10am-11, part 2 will be available for download on FunemploymentRadio.com later in the day) . . .

. . . will likely include behind-the-curtains tales of life in the belly of the monolithic beast that is corporate radio, along with equal parts of the typical brand of pop-culture comedy from Cort and Fatboy, and the mildly-inebriated charm and wit of Greg and Sarah.

Both Portland-based shows have steadily increased their audience over the past year, and consistently rank among the top 100 comedy podcasts on iTunes.

Willamette River Time-lapse from Jeff Greene on Vimeo.

Jeff Greene‘s description on Vimeo:

On a recent trip to Portland, Oregon I was fortunate to be upgraded to a hotel room with a river view and a balcony on the 11th floor.

From this single vantage point I was able to capture over 7000 images using a variety of lenses and different compositions. The video shows about a twelve-hour span of life on the Willamette River around the Hawthorne Bridge near Waterfront Park.

Portland Timbers Sign First MLS Players

October 19, 2010 by Dave Knows Leave a Comment

TimbersThe Portland Timbers provided a surprise today at the press conference introducing the first four signings to the 2011 MLS Timbers roster: English forward Eddie Johnson. Johnson played this past season for the Austin Aztex, where he scored 14 goals in the regular season, finishing one spot behind Portland’s Ryan Pore in the race for the Golden Boot.

Ryan Pore, Bright Dike, and Steve Cronin round out the first four signings. Timbers technical director Gavin Wilkinson announced too that we can expect the likely future signing of two other players from this year’s team, a central defender and a midfielder. In all likelihood he was referring to Mamadou “Futty” Danso and Kalif Alhassan, respectively.

For more on the signings, visit the Portland Timbers blog at The Offside, OregonLive, and Dropping Timber.
