Match Day: Portland Timbers vs. Real Salt Lake (31-March-2012)

Portland TimbersThe Portland Timbers (1-1-1) host MLS powerhouse Real Salt Lake (2-1-0) at Jeld-Wen FieldJeld-Wen Field this Saturday at 7 p.m.

The match will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on Root Sports, 750 AM The Game, and La Pantera 940 AM.

The Timbers, struggling again this year to play consistently on the road, are coming off their first loss of the season last week at lowly New England. Real Salt Lake lost to Chivas, at home, last weekend. Both clubs want to return to form this Saturday.

Tulip FestTulip Festival 2012

Tulip Fest 2012 at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn kicks off Friday, March 30 and runs through Monday, April 30.

What, exactly, is a tulip fest? On weekdays it’s 40 acres of blooming tulips (and daffodils), a cafe, country store, farm equipment on display, Dutch sausages, and a gift shop. And on weekends you get all that, plus pony rides, a crafters market, Mexican food, wooden shoe making demonstrations, steam tractors, entertainment, and beer and wine! [more]

The Crafty UnderdogThe Crafty Underdog, a different kind of craft show, is throwing a special Fool’s Day Show this Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Mission Theater (1624 NW Glisan).

Portland has become a fundamental stomping ground for Artisans from all trades. From Painters to Photographers, Potters to Jewelers, and Crafters alike; Portland has positioned itself as the Northwest’s own Creative Mecca. Like any good “Mecca,” the talent here is overwhelming. It is boiling over, and there is no end in sight. Thus, we happily introduce, the Crafty Underdog. As talent new and old explodes throughout our dear city, the Crafty Underdog will be here to catch it.

“The Trillium Festival is a celebration of Oregonian’s love of nature, a chance to remember this great legacy left to us by the late Tom McCall and the foresight of the state to make this Oregon’s first and only urban state natural area.”

Shorts: Faux Commercials, Faux Trailers, and movie/TV spoofs.
Feature: “The Selling”

Saturday March 31 starting at 7pm:
Shorts: General Satire.
Feature: “FDR: American Badass”

Sunday April 1 starting at 7pm:
Shorts: Science Fiction, Horror, and Fantasy spoofs.
Feature: “Some Guy Who Kills People”
