One of my favorite Portland beer fests celebrates its 11th year with more than 60 organic beers, ciders – and even some meads and braggots – from 35 breweries. Live music, food and vendors; and activities for the kids make this festival one of the most family friendly beer fests of the summer.

This year’s fair, which runs through the heart of Multnomah Village on Southwest Capitol Highway, will feature more than 100 vendors who are every bit as eclectic as the Village itself. Booths will be open from roughly 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

NAOBFThe 2015 North American Organic Brewers Festival (NAOBF) takes place Thursday through Sunday (August 13-16 August) at Overlook Park (N Fremont and Interstate).

One of my favorite Portland beer fests celebrates its 11th year with more than 60 organic beers, ciders – and even some meads and braggots – from 35 breweries. Live music, food and vendors; and activities for the kids make this festival one of the most family friendly beer fests of the summer.

Take the Yellow Line MAX to the fest – get off at the Overlook Park station (festival organizers encourage bicycling too, but drunk bicycling is dumb).

The NAOBF is a cash only event! Admission is free but to sample beers you have to buy a $7 cup. Sample tokens are $1 each. The hours are noon to 9 PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; noon to 5 PM on Sunday.

Portland Nursery Apple Tasting Event 2012

October 8, 2012 by Dave Leave a Comment

Tasting lineupPortland Nursery‘s 25th Annual Apple Tasting Event takes place over the next two weekends (Friday-Sunday, October 12-14, and 19-21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day) at the SE 50th and Stark location.

This is my favorite fall event (after the Polish Festival and Oktoberfests). Apple tasting, old fashioned cider pressing, apple desserts, cooking demonstrations, and live music – what’s not to like? Heather also freakin’ loves apples!

in 2010 Heather and actually tried all of the 65+ varieties of apples and pears (this year’s fest features over 50 varieties) – in previous years the line was too daunting. The key, we learned, is to arrive early before the tasting line gets too long. The same varieties of apples and pears in the tasting are available to take home by the pound.

Visit the website and Facebook page for more details, including the full musical lineup and special event days.
