Airstream BambiThe Portland Metro RV Dealers Association is committed to exposing people to the recreational vehicle lifestyle. Americans find a freedom they cannot duplicate in any other way with the RV life; freedom to set their own pace and see what they want, when they want.

Some like to rest, relax and recharge their batteries, while others like to hit the road and follow the sun. Escaping the routine of the everyday world and strengthening a relationship with friends or family, particularly children, is also important to all RVers

Moshow the Cat Rapper

 IAmMoshow (The Cat Rapper) live performancen celebration of Carl Kahler’s My Wife’s Lovers, the Museum is hosting a series of “Caturday” pop-up events in partnership with local artists and the Oregon Humane Society. From improv to expert discussions to original rap and cat poetry, we’ll explore the curious intersection between cats and art.

The show is 1 PM at the Portland Art Museum (1219 SW Park).

Foster Gets Art Walk (2.0)

Second Saturday will commence March 12, with a joint-artist showing hosted by Backstory Books (6010 SE Foster) and Latchkey Gallery (6004 SE Foster), with assists from Wild at Heart Salon and Velvet Goldmine. Remember, these businesses help anchor a burgeoning two-block commercial stretch of Foster that has seen an influx of new businesses and storefront improvements over the last couple years. There’s food (Nayar, Tambayan, Torta), retail (Green Noise, Velvet Goldmine, Backstory, and Meticon Bikes), drink (FoPo Tavern) and art (Latchkey), all combining to make an increasingly vibrant node on Foster.

In another sign of spring, Saturday Market opens this weekend. Your MLS-champ Timbers kick off the 2016 season, and Barleywines and SE Portland art round out a solid weekend.

Lucky LabVisit The New School for the Beer List for the Lucky Labrador Barleywine Festival.

Come join us for the big, crazy beers at this year’s Barleywine Festival at the Quimby Beer Hall on Friday and Saturday, March 4th and 5th, noon to 10 p.m. both days. An event glass and four tokens are just $15 and extra tickets are $2 each for a four ounce pour. We have over 50 different beers. We will have about 25 on tap at any one time so you might want to make this a two day event.

PSM will feature:

SE Area ARTWalk

SE Area ArtWalkNearly 70 artists will provide a blaze of colors, shapes, textures, and visual stimuli in SE Portland neighborhoods for the annual SE Area ARTWalk on Saturday and Sunday, the first weekend of March. The ARTWalk map area includes the boundaries of SE 9th Ave to SE 41st and SE Powell to SE Hawthorne Blvd. Artists show in their own creative space or are hosted by local residents and businesses allowing you to visit indoor locations on the free, self-guided tour. The SE Area ARTWalk is a community-building event that has strengthened the connection between businesses, artists, and neighbors.

Portland Timbers’ 2015 MLS Cup Championship Celebration and home opener against Columbus Crew SC

Portland TimbersThe Portland Timbers host the Columbus Crew at Providence Park on Sunday, 6 March 2016 in the 2016 league opener for both teams, at 1:30 PM.

Oh yeah, and we’ll be celebrating winning the 2015 MLS Cup!

The celebration will include:

  • The official 2015 MLS Cup Championship banner unveiling, with the help of Timber Jim and Timber Joey
  • A commemorative MLS Cup Championship pennant giveaway for the first 7,500 supporters into Providence Park
  • MLS Cup trophy display and photo opportunity at the matchv
  • A large-scale banner and flag display on the Providence Park pitch pre-game
  • As is tradition, the Timbers Army will sing the national anthem

Cascade Brewing Barrel HouseCascade Brewing Barrel House‘s annual Sour Fruit Fest – featuring sour fruit beers – kicks off Wednesday, 24 February 2016 and runs through Sunday, 28 February.

Multnomah County’s newest, old, bridge opens to auto traffic on March 1, 2016. Before that happens, come on out Saturday, 27 February 2016 from noon until 4 PM for the New Sellwood Bridge Opening Celebration.

“The community is invited to a celebration on the new bridge on Saturday, Feb. 27. The new bridge opens for the free, family-friendly event at noon. An opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will start the celebration around 1 p.m., followed by the “Through the Decades” parade. Attendees should enter the event at S.E. Tacoma St. and S.E. 6th Ave.

Food carts, retail and non-profit booths will be located on the bridge for the party. There will be entertainment on the main stage and along the bridge, and a few surprises. The first to arrive will receive a Sellwood Bridge lapel pin to commemorate the day.”

TOAST: The Original Artisan Spirits Tasting

TOAST 2016The 6th Annual Toast event is an opportunity to taste from a wide variety of over 120 spirits from across the Northwest, the Country and the Globe. Whether your spirit preference is Whiskey, Rum, Gin, Vodka, Tequila, Brandy, Liqueurs – or even unique spirits like Absinthe and Aquavit – the estimated 40 distillers and producers at TOAST will have it covered. TOAST allows small distillers and producers to showcase their handcrafted spirits, while providing an opportunity for the public to experience the diversity and quality of craft spirits from Oregon and beyond.

Bricks Cascade 2016: Public Exposition

BRICKS CASCADE 2016This event is open to the public and will be held February 27 & 28 between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM

Join us to see the artistic and ingenious marvels created by Adult Fan of Lego (AFoL) and very talented young builders from around the world.

Vendors will also be available with T-shirts, LEGO Minifigs, Custom made plastic elements and old/vintage LEGO sets.

Multnomah County’s newest, old, bridge opens to auto traffic on March 1, 2016. Before that happens, come on out Saturday, 27 February 2016 from noon until 4 PM for the New Sellwood Bridge Opening Celebration.

The community is invited to a celebration on the new bridge on Saturday, Feb. 27. The new bridge opens for the free, family-friendly event at noon. Fix-It FairThe last Fix-It Fair of the 2015-2016 season takes place this Saturday, 20 February 2016 at George Middle School (10000 N Burr).

“The Fix-It Fair is a FREE City of Portland event where you can learn simple ways to save money and connect with resources. Join your neighbors and talk to the experts about how to spend less and stay healthy.”

From 9:30 AM to 3 PM visit exhibits and attend workshops on water and energy savings, health, food and nutrition, recycling and composting, yard and garden care, transportation, and more.

McMenamins23rd Annual Hillsdale Brewfest

The 23rd annual Hillsdale Brewfest takes place Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Hillsdale Brewery and Public House (1505 SW Sunset Blvd).

“Many of the finest beers from McMenamins’ breweries will be sent in to battle, their brewers vying for bragging rights as well as the notorious championship belt.”

Chowder Challenge

Chowder ChallengeLompoc Brewing‘s 10th annual Chowder Challenge takes place Saturday, 20 February 2016, at the Lompoc Fifth Quadrant (3901 N Williams)…

This blind tasting competition features New England-style chowder entries from Lompoc Beer 5th Quadrant, Burnside Brewing Co, Cascade Brewing Barrel House, D’S BAR, Farm House Cafe, Pelican Brewing Company, Produce Row Cafe, Saraveza, Sports on Tap, Stormbreaker Brewing, Uptown Market and Widmer Brothers Brewing. The top vote-getter will be named the People’s Choice Winner and will be awarded the Chowder Cup. Prizes will also be awarded to the first two runners-up.

9th Annual Firkin Fest

Firkin FestRogue Ales will host the 9th Annual Firkin Fest at the PDX Green Dragon in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, February 20th, 2016.

The event will feature firkin beers from 30 of Oregon’s top breweries – Firkin beers are unpasteurized, unfiltered, naturally carbonated in the cask and served at cellar temperature.
