October 22: The Cort and Fatboy/Funemployment Radio Giant Size Crossover #2

October 20, 2010 by Dave Knows Leave a Comment

The Cort and Fatboy/Funemployment Radio Giant Size Crossover #2Cort and Fatboy celebrate 364 days without a corporate firing with Funemployment Radio‘s Greg Nibler and Sarah X. Dylan on Friday, October 22nd at 10am on Cascadia.FM, it’s the The Cort and Fatboy/Funemployment Radio Giant Size Crossover #2 show!

Friday’s special 2 part show (part 1 airs 10am-11, part 2 will be available for download on FunemploymentRadio.com later in the day) . . .

. . . will likely include behind-the-curtains tales of life in the belly of the monolithic beast that is corporate radio, along with equal parts of the typical brand of pop-culture comedy from Cort and Fatboy, and the mildly-inebriated charm and wit of Greg and Sarah.

Both Portland-based shows have steadily increased their audience over the past year, and consistently rank among the top 100 comedy podcasts on iTunes.

The Launch of CASCADIA.FM

Cascadia.FMThe groundbreaking PDX.fm internet radio network is no more, but that’s not bad news. CASCADIA.fm is here, starting Monday, October 11 2010.

Now, maybe you didn’t get the memo – probably because we didn’t send one out (we’d rather be working on making good Internet radio than writing stupid memos), but if you want to know why we changed, what’s different, or how it affects everyone involved, we suggest that you listen to the Friday, October 8th episode of Suck It™ – all will become clear.

You really should listen to that broadcast, but here’s the thumbnail: Robert and Sabrina thank the listeners and explain that in all likelihood your favorite show is still on the air. The difference is that the station, and audience is growing. Cascadia.fm bills itself as The Next Generation of Independent, Talk Radio and has expanded its reach to Seattle, Vancouver B.C. and beyond. A Cascadia.fm application is forthcoming, which will make listening to and interacting with the show hosts easier, and in May 2011 Cascadia.tv will launch.

The most popular shows, like iPhoneSlutz, continue on the air at CASCADIA.FM. Suck It™, Unibash Radio, Cort and Fatboy, Legion of News, Don’t Panic Portland, and Exceptional Women NW continue as daily programs. The Life Portlandic is now The Life Cascadia, and a new weekly show, Evening Submission, kicks off Friday, October 15 2010 at 8pm. The full broadcast schedule is up at Cascadia.fm.

Robert Wagner and Sabrina Miller ask you to Suck It™

Suck It™My favorite Portland internet radio personalities, Robert Wagner and Sabrina Miller, are back!

Again!

Their new show, Suck It™, debuts Monday, September 20th at 8:30am Pacific Time on PDX.fm (iTunes forthcoming).

In addition UniBash Radio returns, at 9:30am on weekdays, with Jay Mackin!

A recap for the curious: Portland Sucks, with Robert and Sabrina, had a good run end in May 2010, but Morning Submission was born! Then Portland Sucks returned . . . for a few episodes. Alas, most recently Morning Submission disappeared and mornings were quiet (if you want to know all the sordid details, Robert explains at his blog).

Meanwhile I’m still patiently waiting for Emily Gibson‘s Meat Show to return . . .

Portland Sucks Returns!

August 10, 2010 by Dave Knows 1 Comment

Portland SucksMonday, August 9th marked the return of Portland Sucks, your daily dose of rants and immature and quasi-clueless observations from Robert Wagner.

The final broadcast of the original Portland Sucks was on Friday, May 7th, 2010.

Live from the crystal meth strip club capital of the Pacific Northwest, the subject of the first new episode‘s ranting is The Bite of Oregon, one of the more disappointing annual Portland festivals. Robert also regales us with the story of witnessing his first citizen’s arrest, and a heaping helping of self-congrats for making the return back from the dead, or something.

The new PDX Sucks is live every weekday at 9:30am on PDX.fm.
