The 2011 Multnomah Days festival takes place Saturday, August 20 between SW 33rd and 39th on Capitol Highway in Multnomah Village. The fest runs from from 10am to 4pm.
Kick the morning off with the Kiwanis Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the Key Bank, from 8:30 until 11am – proceeds benefit the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp for Children and Adults with Disabilities. The breakfast includes juice and fresh Starbucks coffee too. [more]

The Three-Minute Picture Show film festival returns to Portland, and the Clinton Street Theater (2522 SE Clinton), for a second year this Saturday, August 20, 2011.
The Three-Minute Picture Show is a 30 day, 3 minute film making project where participants sign up and commit to spending the month of July creating a 3 minute masterpiece, then experience the glory of watching it on the big screen in front of a live audience! [more]
Portland Timbers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps
The Portland Timbers (7-12-5) try to regain form this Saturday, August 20, 2011 when the MLS Vancouver Whitecaps (3-12-9) make their first visit to Jeld-Wen Field. Kickoff is at 7pm.
Portland’s woes on the road continue, but at home the team has had their best performances. But the Timbers haven’t had as hard a time of it as the Whitecaps, who sit alone at the bottom of the standings with only 18 points out of 24 matches. Portland it two spots higher with 26 points.

Come to Pioneer Square to experience the sights and sounds of India and the Subcontinent on Sunday August 21 from 11am-9pm at the India Festival 2010. There will be music and dance exhibitions, as well as food!

The first annual Giro di Portland, a criterium bicycle race through the streets of the Pearl District, takes place this Sunday, August 21, 2011. The race is presented by Festa Italiana (which takes place next weekend, August 25 to 27).
A criterium is a fast race, with competitors attempting to complete the most laps in a set period of time. The Giro di Portland’s six corner race course between Hoyt and Kearney 12th and 14th features fast corners, cobblestones, a bit of elevation gain and a long run to the finish will guarantee an exciting race for both racers and spectators.
